Character Name: Haru Okumura
Canon: Persona 5
Canon History: Here!

Canon Personality: Known to the student body of Shujin as eccentrically reserved, Haru has lived--if you can even call it that--a trapped life in seclusion. As the daughter of Kunikazu Okumura, a well-known CEO, her upbringing actually kind of shows: she's reserved and detached from the school's student body, keeping to herself as much as possible, with trust issues to the tune of "what if that person just wants to be friends with me to curry favor with my father or otherwise use my family's status." She's not had any friends her own age, or even much of a social life at all, making her awkward when she interacts with people, and she's more than just a bit sheltered. This exterior, however, conceals a gentle, warmhearted girl whose true nature shines once she becomes friends with the Phantom Thieves.

Despite her upbringing, Haru is very empathetic and kind. She's quick to become friends with the other Phantom Thieves once she's joined the group, and one of the first things she does when she's aware of who the Thieves are in the real world is to call them out on turning their backs on a friend (even if Morgana most likely didn't give her anywhere close to the full story). She's the only member of the group that can't be found butting heads with Ryuji at any given moment, and the only member of the group that didn't join in the first place in order to punish someone. When she becomes friends with someone, she's affectionate in manner with them--she quickly dubs Makoto "Mako-chan" out of excitement to finally have a friend her age. Aside from her loving and empathetic nature, Haru's a hard worker despite her upbringing, gladly putting effort into a task like gardening and wanting to open her own cafe chain where the items available are made from coffee beans and vegetables that have been homegrown. She makes it clear that she plans to attain the skills necessary for doing so. Another quality that may surprise others thanks to Haru's upbringing is a certain wisdom of hers--she's fully aware of the privileged life she's led so far, even if it was a rather unhappy one. She knows she's luckier than most people in some respects, and as a result, she's very aware of where her areas of expertise actually are and where she'd only just get in the way. Haru is also a person who appreciates any bit of freedom she can get, thanks to the life she's lived up until her father's death--one where every step of the path in front of her had been planned out without her say. Even something as simple as being able to go out shopping herself is a luxury she wouldn't have had before.

It's thanks to the Phantom Thieves that Haru can be her truest self, however, when she's operating as Noir in the Metaverse. As stated before, she's probably one of the only members of the Phantom Thieves that didn't explicitly join in order to punish someone. It's mainly so she can escape her arranged marriage to the gross creep Sugimura, but she does come to deeply desire her father's reformation, and a chance to reach a resolution with him... even if it's one that's robbed from her. She may have gone in without being true to her real desires to start with, meaning her Persona hadn't really awakened, but that really doesn't last long once her father's Shadow makes it clear he has no illusions about the type of man Sugimura really is and how little he actually cares for Haru's well-being. Despite her resolve, however, her father's Shadow still manages to get to her and trip her up near the end, where she falls for his fake apology, landing most of the other Thieves in a trap. She... she's doing her best. The reasoning for her code name, Noir, is something that she'd actually put thought into beyond a line-of-sight sort of logic: though she is a heroine of justice, she is still operating on the darker side of the law as one of the Phantom Thieves. It's also worth noting that her gentle nature goes out the window in the Metaverse, especially when it comes to any Shadow standing in her path. As Noir, Haru displays a rather startling bloodthirsty streak when it comes to Shadows. Combat is stress-relieving, finishing off an enemy is a thrill unlike any other, Shadows begging for their lives sets off a spark of excitement. Even Makoto, a rather brutal fighter as Queen, with a tendency to take out her pent-up anger on Shadows, finds Haru's sadistic streak rather alarming.

AU Name: N/A
AU Birthday: December 5th

AU History: (Give a quick rundown of their AU history in Kaisou. Please note their experiences with the paranormal.)
- Haru's early life was fairly similar to canon in many respects--the daughter of an ambitious CEO who had cared early on, but began to see her as little more than a bargaining chip once she got older.
- Unlike canon, however, with the help of a family member on her mother's side, she fled to the United States and ultimately ended up in Kaisou.
- She finished her education and attended college, getting the appropriate degrees, and eventually becoming a science teacher at Kaisou High.
- Recently, Haru had gotten called back to Japan to deal with a family emergency there... Only to meet disaster herself on the return trip. The plane crashed, with only half of the passengers surviving. Haru would not have been one of them, if it hadn't been for the faerie that came to her and offered a deal. She returned to Kaisou after that, but had to take a week to herself between the family crisis and the plane crash.

AU Personality Differences: (Please note if there's any differences from their canon personality due to the AU setting)

Element: Earth
Purchased Powers: (refer to the element page for reference! You have 6 points to spend at this time!)
- Better than average sense of smell (1 point)
- Medium level regeneration (2 points)
- Medium level plant manipulation (3 points)
Possession: When Haru was on the verge of succumbing to her wounds in the plane crash, a faerie came to her and offered her a chance to continue living. Needless to say, Haru accepted. The faerie possessing Haru is a particularly vindictive sort who dislikes leaving a debt unsettled, so her contract price is that Haru will feel compelled to repay any perceived slight or favor towards her in kind, preferably within a day. The longer Haru doesn't, the stronger the compulsion will become until it's all she can think about, only ending when she finally manages it.
